Rami first stepped through the door at JACS in 2007 after a decade struggling with their addictions. They celebrated four years free of all mind-altering substances on December 25, 2022 after yet another decade of going in and out of treatment centers, living on skid row in the Vancouver East side, and fighting for their life.

Rami is a vibrant member of the Rainbow Community and was elected 2023 Pride Toronto Sober Ambassador. While working at JACS, Rami also attends George Brown College, studying to become a Community Service Worker. Their values represent community, sustainability, Trans awareness, and advocacy for human rights. Rami co-facilitates the Rainbow Group using their experience as a member of the rainbow community.
