JACS Toronto is an organization that provides support to individuals struggling with post-secondary addiction in Toronto, Ontario. JACS stands for Jewish Addiction Community Services and was founded in 1988 by a group of volunteers who wanted to provide specialized services for those suffering from addictions related to drugs, alcohol or gambling. The goal of JACS is to create a safe space where people can find help and understanding without judgement or stigma associated with addiction.
At JACS Toronto, there are many different programs aimed at helping individuals overcome their post-secondary addictions such as individual counselling sessions which allow clients the opportunity explore underlying issues that may be contributing towards their addictive behaviours; weekly educational workshops on topics ranging from relapse prevention strategies through nutrition; peer support groups which offer members the chance connect with others going through similar experiences; and social activities designed specifically for young adults looking for positive outlets away from substance use. All these services are provided free of charge by qualified professionals who understand how difficult it can be dealing with an addiction while trying balance school work along other commitments life throws our way.
