Details
The JACS Women’s Support Group aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for any woman affected, both directly and indirectly, by addiction and problematic behaviours. The weekly meeting utilizes an interactive group format in which participants are encouraged to share, check-in, and/or address any concerns or problems they may have.
Each meeting begins with a psychoeducational component in which the group facilitator and participants are able to learn further and explore relevant topics related to addiction, such as codependency, boundaries, guilt and shame, and self-care. Following, the facilitators moderate a discussion while offering therapeutic feedback to the participants.
The emphasis of the group is support! Every meeting ensures a welcoming and therapeutic space for individuals to share about their own lives, offer feedback to other participants, and connect with each other through vulnerability and honesty.
There is no cost to attend. The Women’s support group runs every Tuesday evening from 8:30 -10:00 pm on ZOOM. For more information, please email groups@jacstoronto.org.
