Orthodox Women’s Support Group

Join a community of supportive Orthodox Women

Details

To others, your life on the outside may look in order, but behind closed doors and within your heart there is turmoil. You feel as if no one else struggles like you do and you worry for your family’s future. Come and learn from others who have been in similar situations and have dealt with addiction and mental health issues in their families. You will learn that you are not alone, your story is not so unique and there is a caring, experienced community of women waiting any time to offer guidance and support.

There is no cost to attend. This group is facilitated by David Kaufman, Director of Outreach & Education. Orthodox Women’s Support group runs every Tuesday evening from 8:00-9:30 pm on ZOOM. For more information, please email groups@jacstoronto.org.

It’s heartwarming to see the work JACS does in our community up close. I watched as their professionals educated community members on addiction triggers and mental health obstacles, which ensured those in the audience they were not alone in their daily struggles. Never have I been able to see an organization’s impact so clearly in such a short period of time.

After doing drugs for over 42 years I had had enough and desperately wanted to stop ! Now 3 years clean I still attend meetings at JACS. If I would have known that recovery is this good I would have done it a long time ago.

I have become calmer and able to face challenges easier. During these COVID lockdowns and look to the meditation classes as the highlight of my day!

I had long know I was a sex addict and didn’t know where to turn. My life had been unmanageable and I was not able to control my addiction. The first couple of COVID months were extremely isolating and hard for me. Finding distractions and projects was not a solution to my addiction. JACS is offering fellowship, support, structure, counselling, a safe open honest space and hope. I am grateful for the support and opportunity JACS offers.
